This is the third painting I've created based on a lovely section of river near me in Somerset. It's a monochrome, black & white painting on an un-stretched 160 x 112 cm canvas. The small river is on a gentle bend at this point as it meanders its way through farmland.
There are quite a few trees on the river bank and once in a while a whole tree, or large branch, is partially submerged in the river, having been blown down or broken off at some point. The trees are largely leafless as this painting is set in wintertime.
I think these black and white canvases have a very decorative, contemporary feel to them and I'm hoping to paint more monochrome pictures soon.
