My semi abstract Autumn tree painting is one of my most popular at the moment. I paint such pieces in both portrait and landscape orientation. I used a lot of orange in this painting and I think that it may be my favourite colour! Orange seems to have an appealing mix of both vibrancy and calmness at the same time.
I added some orange, yellow and red splashes in the grass area at the base of this painting to represent some fallen leaves. Although I paint to certain styles and designs, I find that the nature of this approach to painting means that each painting takes on its own character as it is being created and becomes a unique artwork.
I used acrylic and oil paint for this painting and once stretched, the canvas measured approximately 115 x 90 x 1.8 cm.
This style of Autumn tree painting can also be painted on to a large landscape canvas. Here’s a couple of examples of other tree paintings I’ve done taking this approach.
