This painting is a new style for me and I’m quite pleased with the outcome. I was aiming for large blocks of distinct colour whilst also then trying to tie these blocks together to create a complete whole. On top of the areas of strong colour I applied intermittent white highlights. I then added narrow ‘whispy’ lines of mainly white and yellow paint, created by dribbling paint rapidly over the surface of the canvas. I feel that this all helped to bring a sense of uniformity to the artwork.
This is a very large modern art painting commissioned by a customer in South London. The painting measures approximately 162 x 112 cm. It is painted on a loose canvas and was supplied to the customer rolled up. The customer has now got the canvas stretched by a picture framer in his local area and has hung the painting in his kitchen.
